NATIONAL LIFEGUARD COURSE
The Lifesaving Society’s National Lifeguard Service Award (formally NLS) builds on the fundamentals skills, knowledge, and values of the Lifesaving Society to develop the practical skills and knowledge required by lifeguards.
Prerequisite: 16+ years of age, current Standard First Aid with CPR-C, Bronze Cross
Course Materials: Canadian Lifesaving Manual ($50.00) or Canadian First Aid Manual ($20.00) and Alert Manual ($50.00)

Recertification
The purpose of a National Lifeguard Service Recertification is to ensure and reaffirm that National Lifeguards can perform at the NLS standard.
The revised NLS training program requires the following items to be evaluated on every recertification.
Prerequisite: Proof of an expired National Lifeguard certification.
